Gerald E. Sheehan of Reno, Nevada, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024. Gerry was born in San Francisco, California to his parents, James and Anna on November 3, 1941. As a fifth-generation Californian, Gerry was baptized at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Martinez and raised in Concord, California where he attended Queen of All Saints School. He was extremely active in community sports of baseball, basketball and football. After graduating from Saint Mary's College High School, Gerry went on to study and continue his athletic career at Diablo Valley College and California State University Hayward (East Bay). Gerry was fond of his Mattson Dairy and Giants teammates. He was called "The Jet" by many who knew him because of the way he would jet around the bases or jet down the court or field. Gerry also loved golf and like most sports he played, he was excellent at it.
Gerry served his country with distinction with the Army National Guard. He was a very successful business owner of Sheehan Plumbing & Heating and Sheehan Liquors in Concord, California, the Blue Water Sea Garden Restaurant in Incline Village, Nevada and Affagottso's Pizza later Papagottso's on North Main Street in Walnut Creek, California.
A beloved father and grandfather, Gerry is survived by his two daughters, Marnie Sheehan Carter and Chrystina Gayden, and his son-in-law Stephen Carter. He was a cherished grandfather to Sebastian, Chelsea, Christian, Cebrián, Kealing and Jensen. Gerry is also survived by Charlyn Enstad, his former wife and mother of his children. He was blessed with the friendship of Alice Miller and her family, sons Corey and Shane.
Gerry will be remembered for his ability to always make everyone laugh, his kindness, keen wisdom and dedication to his family. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind. A private memorial service will be held to honor his life and the joy he brought to those around him this Sunday, August 18, 2024 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada with a celebration of life beginning at 1 pm to be held at Bowl Incline (920 Southwood Blvd, Incline Village, NV 89451).
