Background
I want to continue Gerald's legacy by donating US Flags to individuals and businesses who desire to fly our nation's colors. Gerald gave away thousands of flags over his lifetime, never seeking recognition or reimbursement. He always carried several flags with him in his car.
On one memorable occasion, I was driving with Dad through a residential area in a city, about an hour away from home. He spotted a house with a tattered flag in the front yard. He didn't know whose house it was, and it didn't matter to him anyway. No one was at home, but we took down the old flag, ran up a new one, and he left a note on the door which simply said, "Thank you for flying our flag!"
