Gerald's obituary
Gerald “Jerry” L. Moyer, 86, of Bechtelsville, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Born on July 3, 1938 in Sassamansville, PA, he was a man we were proud to call our father and his grandchildren and great grandchildren affectionately called Gpa. He was totally devoted to his wife of 66 years. He was the greatest of fathers and a loving husband.
He appreciated the simple things, like relaxing with his wife and beloved dog Maggie, watching his country music shows and Sunday morning breakfast with his family. Jerry enjoyed going to car shows, walking around the Green Dragon & Bird-in-Hand market and weekend trips to Lancaster with his family. He loved tinkering around in the garage, especially on his 1970 Dodge Dart. Jerry had a skill for diagnosing and fixing cars and was willing to help anyone in need. He always cherished his many friends and extended family who will remember him for his huge heart and smile and being a genuine, sincere person that those close to him could always rely on.
Jerry was the owner of Jerry’s Auto Care until his retirement. Prior to opening his own business he had worked at Superior Tube, Teleflex, Williams Pontiac and Bermont Motors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruth (Schoenly)Moyer, his brother Ronald Moyer, his sister Shirley Gardian and great grandson Bryson Foell.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Moyer, and his four children : Tammy (Ed) Miller, Shelly (Scott) Wronowski, Connie (Don) Schlesman, and Michael Moyer. He was a proud grandfather to Brad (Stefanie) Trainer, Jenna (Tim) Foell, Shane (Briana) Wronowski, and Sage (Samantha) Wronowski. He was delighted to be great grandfather to Gavin , Jackson, Rhys, Brooklyn and Owen.
Jerry will forever be loved and missed by all that knew him. We were blessed to have had him in our lives and will do our very best to honor his life as we go forward without him.
