erald “Jerry” Long, 76 of Tampa, FL passed away on March 9th, 2025, at Tampa General Hospital.

Born on October 12, 1948, in Boyle, Mississippi, Jerald Long was the son of Johnny & Elizabeth Long, Sr. Both deceased. He was a brother, a father, an uncle, and a friend. He grew up in Boyle but left home at an early age for work in New York City and Boston. He finally settled in Florida and made Tampa his home.

Jerry spent most of his life as an entrepreneur. He was always a hard worker and had a passion for making something out of nothing. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

Jerry Long is survived by his beloved children Veronica Long, Cierra Long, (mother of children and friend Dianna Dixon), De’Andre (Debbie) Long, (mother of son and friend Francine Scott), Jerry Lee Long, Jr., Tonia Trotter, and (mother of children and friend Sandra Wilkerson). He was the wonderful loving grandfather of Cheyenne Long, Dorian Riley, Carlos Hill, Jr., Ceazia Hill, Cinyya Preston, Leyonti Jones, Drake Jones, Ahmad Watkins, Lucy Long, Joseph Harris, Josette Harris, Tyler Bryant, and the great-grandfather of Raiyahra Barreto-Long. Including his siblings Robert Lee (Thaleria) Long, Minne Lee Long, Jimmy Dale (Veronica) Long, Terry Roy Long, Willie Frank Long, May Frances (Jackie) Haulcy, and preceded in death by siblings James Long, Johnny Long, Jr., Patricia Ann Long, and Allen Roy Long.
