Gerald Leon Lewis was born November 23 ,1938 in Abilene, Texas to Aubrey Lois Lewis and Gladys Evelyn Harrison. His older sister was Norma Jean Lewis (Henry). In high school, Gerald dated Peggy Jane Bennett and they were married June 28, 1958 in Abilene. They remained happily married for the next 66 years, until her passing.
