Gerald's obituary

Gerald Ronald Carlile is survived by his Wife Nancy Carlile, Son's John Carlile and Steve Carlile, Daughter's Tara Smith and Sherrie Hopkins, 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren and his sister Darlene Shrum. Gary was born in Corvallis, Oregon on June 20, 1943. He honorably served 21 years in the U.S. Army. His tours of duty included Ft. Ord, CA; Ft. Lewis, WA; Ft. Bragg, NC; Ft Sill, OK; Vietnam; Germany; Sun Prairie, WI; Platteville, WI and Eugene, OR. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1981. Gary graduated from the mechanics program at Lane Community College and worked in the automotive industry until he officially retired. Gary had many hobbies, including but not limited to - restoring hot rods, woodworking, remodeling his beloved home, working on his yard, and vacationing with Nancy. He was a member of Harvest Community Church, where he was baptized in the McKenzie River. Gary passed away surrounded by his loved ones on August 13, 2023. He was reunited in heaven with his Mother, Father and Brother. Gary was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather and he will be deeply missed forever. 

The Family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, as it was Gary's Kidney transplant that gave him an additional 17 beautiful years on Earth.
