Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" Benson, 76, of Matthews, NC, passed away on April 13, 2023 after a brief but hard fought battle with kidney cancer.
Jerry was born on July 24, 1946 to Edward E. Benson and Eva Simmons Benson in Augusta, GA. After graduating from Butler High School, he was drafted in to the US Army and served overseas in Vietnam.
After his military service, he attended Aiken Technical College for Business Management, and then began …
