It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Georgette "Kim" Marcoux's passing on November 13, 2024. Born on December 6, 1935, in Lewiston, Maine. Georgette—lovingly known as Kim within the music community—enriched our lives with her vibrant spirit and unforgettable performances for nearly nine decades.
Georgette was a truly extraordinary talent, radiating a charismatic presence that naturally drew people near. Her love for singing blossomed at the tender age of five, and her extraordinary vocal gifts, coupled with her dynamic stage charisma, solidified her status as an icon in both local jazz venues and international stages.
In addition to her illustrious music career, Georgette devoted herself to teaching in Providence, RI, where she passionately imparted her love of music to the lucky children who benefited from her wisdom.
The legacy she leaves behind isn’t solely that of a gifted singer and performer; it's also the legacy of a spirited woman who profoundly touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Through her exquisite artistry and enchanting charm, she evoked emotions and created lasting connections both on and off the stage.
Georgette is survived by her long-time partner, Gwenneth Rae. Their relationship, rooted in mutual respect and love, served as a pillar of strength for them both. She is also survived by her beloved family, Mary Ellen, Stephanie, and Jessica Trepanier,Jacob Potvin, Megan and Dawson King and several cousins. While her absence creates an irreplaceable void, her memories and contributions to the world of music will be forever cherished and honored.
Georgette's life was a beautiful melody that will resonate in our hearts for all time. We wish her the peace she so richly deserves, and we hope her remarkable legacy continues to inspire others.
Georgette was predeceased by her parents, Blanch (Marcoux) Jacques and Lucien Jacques.
