George's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Tracy Anderson of Guilford Lake, a devoted husband to his wife Tina, loving father, and proud grandfather, who left this world on April 7, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of strong family values and enduring love.
George was born on May 24, 1950, to George and Annie Anderson, with whom he is now together again. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Shirley, Patsy, and Glenn Edgar. George will be lovingly remembered by surviving younger brother, John “Chuck” Anderson and sister-in-law, Robin Ickes.
A 1970 graduate of United Local Schools, George went on to build a fulfilling career as a truck driver, traveling across the country—from the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico, where he once lived, to the East Coast. He retired in 2008 from Leaseway Transportation in Lordstown.
In 1978, George entered into a lifelong partnership with Tina Anderson, his beloved wife. A committed and devoted husband, he celebrated 47 years of marriage, cherishing every moment by her side. Their love was reflected in their children, Glenn Anderson and Jennifer (Daniel) Miller. He is survived by his 3 children to a previous marriage, Debbie, George and Tina Anderson [and families].
Family was the center of George’s life. As the patriarch of the Anderson family, he provided steady guidance and upheld strong values with integrity, carrying forward the lessons instilled in him by his parents. After the passing of his father, George stepped into that role, ensuring the family remained as close and cherished as ever. He worked tirelessly to honor their memory and believed deeply in treating others with respect and kindness. Selfless by nature, he showed strength in difficult times and consistently put others before himself.
George held a special place in the hearts of his surviving family. He was a devoted grandfather and mentor to Alexis (Gavin) Geier, Landon and Trenton Anderson, and Rebecca, Kaitlynn, and Coltin Miller, and a proud great-grandfather to Destin and Daylin Geier. He was also a loving and devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; always offering steady support, guidance, and a presence that never wavered.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a passion for firearms and collectibles, often attending local gun shows and swap meets. He was an early user of eBay, where he enjoyed buying, selling, and searching for unique finds. He was also an avid NASCAR fan who especially loved traveling with his wife to races, making memories together along the way. One of his greatest joys was teaching the kids in his life how to build, fix, and remodel—whether it was houses, garages, cars, or mowers. And no day with Pap was complete without him playfully teasing one of the kids.
George’s life was a testament to what mattered most to him—family, loyalty, and unwavering love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his influence will continue to guide and strengthen those who knew and loved him.
