It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Woodrow Sutton, age 78, on May 2, 2025, at his home of Rogers Park, Chicago.

George was born in Chicago on February 8, 1947. He was a dynamic spirit to reinvent himself. He grew up in Lincoln Park and attended Lincoln Elementary and Waller High School (LPHS). He ran several successful antique businesses (including the Chicago Antique Center) from 1991-2021. He had a good eye for art! He loved his restaurants of spicy food and morning coffee with buddies at Jerry’s Grill. He had his fair share of laughs in this town. He is survived by his two sisters Marybeth and Patty, three children Jennifer, Lisa, and Erik, and three grandchildren.

Services:

A reception and memorial service will be held on May 28, 2025, from 5:30pm-7:00pm (6pm memorial service) at the Colvin House, 5940 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Care For Real in Edgewater.
