George's obituary

George Lee Rose, Jr. passed away on Thursday, January 19. He was 81. Born to Nellie and George Lee Rose, Sr., on January 1, 1942, he was a native son of Glynn County. George attended Glynn Academy and was a standout athlete in many sports, but football was his game, and he went on to play football at Auburn University and in the NFL. His accomplishments and accolades in the game of football are too many to list, but all those who knew him will remember. George had many lifelong friends who shared his love of football and golf and getting together at Twin Oaks and the Brunswick Country Club for lunch. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughter, Landy and grandchildren Demery and Jaiden.

A living memorial will be erected at the Glynn Academy practice field this spring, with a planned dedication ceremony and memorial service, these details will be forthcoming in the paper and through other media. Donations may be directed to this memorial fund, or donations can also be made to the Boston University CTE Research Center, for more information go to: https://www.bu.edu/cte/financ…
