I served with George in the USAF Reserves at Westover AFB from 1980-82 before I left for active duty. We shared a room in Aviono, Italy for one of our two-week active duty stints. I remember him to be a cheerful, humorous and kind person.

George, aka DzaDzu, was a wonderful and selfless soul who I was lucky to have as a grandparent. He was always so happy and easygoing, and most importantly supportive.
I will always remember when I first started playing basketball, he challenged me to a game of HORSE. I remember he was down to his last letter, and I made an easy layup from underneath the basket, which he proceeded to say, “You’ve gotta be really bad to miss this shot!” He missed it, and I ended up winning the game, but looking back at it, I wonder if he missed it on purpose just so I could be happy I won
I will miss calling him and trying to speak Polish with him on the phone like we did, but I know he will always be with me and always watching over.
I love you DzaDzu
