George's obituary

Mr. George Elbert Moye, age 74, of Lyons, died early Tuesday morning, January 28, 2020 at Emory University Hospital of Atlanta after a brief illness. George was a native and a life-long resident of Toombs County. George retired from Rayonier after 44 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. George was a charter member of Faith Assembly of God in Lyons and remained active in the church until his passing.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hayslip Moye; His parents B.E. and Eva Moye, as well as one brother, Ellis Moye.

George is survived by two sons, Richard (Ed) Moye, of Atlanta, and Michael (Regina) Moye, of Lyons; one daughter, Pamela (John) Sears of Lyons; four sisters, Dorothy Cowart of Reidsville, Charlsie Barfield of Lyons, Barbara Collins of Lyons, and Jewell Coloradas of Lyons; and one brother, James Moye of Dublin. Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. George Elbert Moye will be held Saturday February 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Faith Assembly of God in Lyons. Reverend Joseph Akins and Reverend Jim Hightower will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery of Lyons. Prior to the service, Mr. George Elbert Moye will lie in state in the church from 1:00pm until the hour of service.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, in the Vidalia Chapel of Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Service.
