So saddened by George’s accident and death. Along with Betsey, he was truly an institution in Baltimore.  So generous, smart and kind.  He will be sorely missed.

George hired me into Danaher just before he left but I did follow his legacies with GE, Black and Decker, and Danaher. He left every assignment in better shape than he found it.  An amazing, driven, smart man!

We are so deeply saddened by the loss of such a good man.  George gave life to our lives and we already miss him, terribly.  Our hearts go out to you, Betsy, and your entire family.

Dear Betsy, we are saddened to know we have lost our dynamic George. One of our favorite memories: Joe and George’s annual sports betting. Baltimore vs Boston!! We always lost and ended up taking you for dinner at Osteria in Miami!  Our loss was a gain in disguise, as we got to be with you and George!  How lucky we were to know George: a man of so many talents and gifts!  We extend our love and sympathy to you, your children and grandchildren. ❤️Sandy and Joe Slotnik
A great soul never dies, George you have left  a legacy of foot prints for life that will continue mending hearts and memories together.  Your soul will forever Rest In Peace
It was providential to have known and worked with George for the past 30 years. George’s passion, energy, integrity, and respect for all people is unparalleled. We have all lost a great man and a trusted friend.

Betsy & family -

I am so sorry for your loss.  George was larger than life in every way - if you spent 5 minutes with him you knew that his family meant absolutely everything to him.  George’s business accomplishments speak for themselves and he did it all with class.

The things I’ll forever cherish about George were his passion for life and genuine kindness he showed for everyone he interacted with…George impacted countless people in ways that always made them better.

On behalf of everyone he touched at Rexnord, we can only say thank you for sharing him with us - he made us all better and touched my life and many, many others in ways that will leave a lasting legacy of how to live life the right way.

Our thoughts and prayers have been and are with all of you.

This can not and should not have happened to such an extraordinary disciplined person ....he should have lived to 120!! As everyone has known you to be -- Mr. Sherman, it is totally heart breaking and unacceptable saddest news that I have not expected to receive yesterday...I am speechless and puzzled.....

My deepest and upmost heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Sherman and all family members🙏❤️🙏!!

I was so honored and grateful for the special friendship and caring that Mr. Sherman has extended ever since working through the acquisitions of our family businesses in the mid-90s. His energetic enthusiasm in sharing either the excitement of expanding his business kingdom , the great passionate enjoyment with traveling in different cultures and his proudly exchanging the updates of his growing and loving family throughout the years will forever be remembered and treasured in my heart!!

May God be with you and May you Rest In Peace!!

George was for me a powerful force.  He was full of life,  and his spirit was extraordinary.   Every occasion with him was supercharged.  He loved his family and his friends without limit.   I have not known anyone who cherished life more than George.  I will miss him every day.   My heart is with Betsy and the boys, and their families.   Much Love,   Denise
George was a remarkable man.  I remember well is boundless every and zest for life. He loved his work, his family, and his commitment to fitness and health. His energy was infectious and unstoppable. I am very sorry for his untimely passing. He will be greatly missed and cherished by all who had the good future to know him.   I send my condolences to Betsy and his large and wonderful family.  Hugh Calkins
George Sherman was a gift to his family, friends and community. A man who accomplished so much and gave back in triplicate . I celebrate his wonderful life and feel blessed to have known George. We loved our time with George and Betsy in Bethany ( where he would Ocean Kayak to Portugal and back in an afternoon) and back in Baltimore with our beloved Family Tree.  What a wonderful man and what a wonderful life. Well done, George, Well Done!

A few months into my first GM role at Danaher, George scheduled an ops review at my business. After the review, George put his arm around me and gave me some coaching, including the fact that I had used "6 of the 10 excuses".  25 years later I still remember the lesson and the delivery:  only George could give a tough message in a way that made you feel good about yourself afterwards.

George, you were an icon.  My career would not have been the same without you as a mentor and role model.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have known and worked for you.

When you were near George, it was electric. I would attend  spinning classes with George, as he would "out spin" us all. Tireless energy to learn and talk regardless of the subject. When we were able to dine  together, always the gentleman with his most gracious and wonderful wife Betsy,   making it  an evening to remember.  There are no words for this tragedy.

I had the distinct privilege to work with George at B & D and Danaher for almost 20 years. What an incredible leader and person. I will be forever indebted to him for what he taught me and the example he set. God Bless  you George for the contributions you made to so many. You will be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
