Our love and condolences to the Sherman family from your United Way of Central Maryland family.  Thank you for always making Baltimore better and taking care of those in need.   Your generosity and compassion will inspire us all- forever.  I will always remember George's big smile wherever he was and zest for life.   It was contagious!

Freddie and I were so sorry to hear of George's passing.  Ever eager to share his passion for work,  I recall one evening he devoted to explaining the intricate workings of hydraulic brakes to me at a dinner party.  He will always be full of energy and life in our hearts and minds.
George Sherman was a kind, generous and Wonderful person. My family and I are extremely grateful to have met Mr.Sherman who helped me start my business. Without Mr.Sherman I wouldn’t be where I am today. He was always there to offer his advice and help to me and my family. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to meet someone so special and feel very fortunate to have been able to work for him. I will always remember Mr.Sherman fondly and with much appreciation. My condolences, love, and prayers are with his family who I also adore and appreciate very much.
George was a wonderful and generous man and I was fortunate to know him. He was a long-time investor in ReBUILD Metro's efforts to revitalize East Baltimore. George was one of the most engaged and interested supporters of our work. He always made time for me, taking my calls in airports and hotels or stopping to walk the neighborhood. He had an authentic concern that his investment in ReBUILD Metro would make a difference for the families of East Baltimore. He was the best example of a leader; he balanced his compassion with his drive and intellect to encourage the best possible outcomes in others. He was a blessing and I will honor him by following the leadership example he set.

My thoughts and prayers are with Betsy and the entire Sherman family.

Very saddened to hear of George's passing.  Like everyone here who knew or worked with him, we were blessed by his presence and his contribution in our lives.  He will be so missed.

Dear Betsy and family: I’m so grateful for the chance to have connected with George over the years. Reading so many wonderful memories brings me back to our first lunch 24 years ago as part of the GBC Leadership program; he offered to mentor me. While he first intimidated me with his focus on big systems and vision for Danaher, we quickly moved into ways to collectively impact our community. I left uplifted despite the vast challenges we talked about, and I started shifting my focus to systems thinking.

George oozed joy in every relationship and every time at a podium talking about why he felt the work Joe Jones or others were doing could be game changing. He bet on leaders, and he loved inspiring them.

My more recent memory was watching him beam with pride at Betsy in front of 1000 fundraising professionals as she accepted an award for their work in not only contributing financially, but for the way they thought about and acted on what mattered.

George's infectious smile, presence and pursuit of bigger change will live on in so many, as so many have shared so beautifully. ❤️

Hard to beleive George Was life always creating passionate and so kind A personality we can always remember For me he is still here and always be

We are all very lucky to have met him in our life Sending all my love to Betsy a grande dame who gave him and helped him accomplish all his dreams

The children and grand children he was so proud of .Sending you all my deepest regret .

Urban Teachers Baltimore extends it's heartfelt condolences to the Sherman Family.  George was such a generous, kind, thoughtful human being and he was a true proponent for teachers and students across Baltimore City!  Whenever I had the pleasure of being in the company of George and Betsy, it was apparent they were more than benefactors, but deeply engaged with people and results as true community partners.  George will be missed!
Mr. Sherman was what I always called him, he deserved that handle on his name and more. I’ve watched him taking care of business at his desk, he was in the zone, doing what he did so well. He was such a great man, father, husband, and all around giver of his his skills to so many. I love you Mr. Sherman, you will always hold a place in our families heart, your last words are the love you held for your family, my last words are, Well Done, you have left a legacy and footprint in this world that will never be forgotten 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥇

I will always miss George, his wisdom, his humor, and our conversations that started off as business and ended up about our families,  I have 3 daughters, he has 4 sons, and our friendship of over 65 years!  He just made you feel better!  I am so thankful that Lorraine and I had the chance to see George just before he passed.   It was a special moment for us to share our personal thoughts with George.  Thank you, Betsy.  I was particularly  grateful to share with Matthew during our visit, some of the many stories with his dad from our high school days including an old wedding photo of George and I.  I know that life goes on, but without George and Al,  it just won't be the same.  We were truly brothers!   Memories and friendship forever!

Love, Govy

I have worked on Fisher Island For over 20 years now and every single time George walked into the class he would light up the room with his contagious smile and energy. It was clients like him that would push me to be a better instructor. What wonderful memories I have of him in the gym. You will be dearly missed!! So sorry for your loss, may your beautiful memories of George carry you through this difficult time.  Holly
