George's obituary
Seeing him off at the gate were his son Toby (Marilee); daughters Eleni, Dena and Heidi; grandchildren Rachel (Simon), Amanda (Grant), Elly (Cory), Calvin, Madelyn; great grandchildren Lexi, Amaya (Isaiah), Grace, Matthew, Zoey, Devin, Aaron, Gabby, Austin and Kiran. Honorable grandkids Brian, Molly, Lauren, Julianne and Vanessa.
It was a smooth flight with clear visibility and no turbulence while George kept his seatbelt fastened securely.
The in-flight movie titled "A Life Well Lived" was about a boy growing up in Pontiac, Illinois. He owned his own grocery store, but his dream was to work on airplanes. That dream brought him to Minnesota in early 1960, which led to 30 years as an airline mechanic and turned out to be the true love of his life! He retired with many hobbies which included many trips aboard his favorite steam locomotive "261" with his family. He also loved to sail and read a lot of books about history, airplanes and trains.
Meeting him at the arrival gate were: Father/Mother George and Mabel Leonard, former wife Marna Jean Leonard, Herman the Duck, many wonderful relatives and friends.
Private memorial at Lake Pepin in October.
Thank you for the lovely ride Dad, we hope you enjoyed your flight!!
