George Kok Lun Ho, 75, of Abbotsford, BC, Canada, peacefully passed away on April 2nd, 2026.

Born in Hong Kong to Alexander (Ho Wah Sai) and Veronica (Mau Mak Ying) Ho, little brother to Annie Li (nee Ho), George was a quiet boy with a playful streak - particularly when alongside cousin David. The family immigrated to Vancouver in 1969, and George completed Grade 12 in 1970. 1971 was a life changing year, when George met and fell in love with his future wife Roxana Ho (nee Layne). In 1975, they both graduated from UBC with Bachelor of Science degrees in pharmaceutical sciences. His first career job was in Port Alberni at Shoppers Drug Mart. George would stay with Shoppers Drug Mart over the course of 41 years moving from Port Alberni to Dawson Creek and Chilliwack. George finally married the love of his life in 1978, returning to Burnaby where he worked for Jack Austin Drugs until 1988. Moving to Dawson Creek in 1988 was a pivotal moment in George’s life as it allowed him to raise his family in the way he had dreamed of.

In 1983, George and Roxana welcomed their first son, Andrew. George was overjoyed and insisted on being a hands-on Dad, getting up for 1am feedings and learning how to change diapers. In 1989, the family’s joy grew as they welcomed Jeremy to the fold. George greeted this new challenge with tenderness and renewed joy. Throughout their childhoods, George was always an involved father. He fostered compassion, love and respect for nature, and opened their eyes to the world. He prioritized education and physical health in the entire family by encouraging lots of long nature walks, bike rides and organized sports.

Later in life, George was blessed with two granddaughters courtesy of Andrew and his wife Brigitte (nee Schilds). George relished having two little girls in his world to spoil with picnics, treats and pretty dresses. After retirement, George continued his involvement in service clubs and associations. He joined the Rotary club and was an active board member of the Abbotsford Peer Support for Seniors (APSS). He also enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, family and “the vacationers”.

George was predeceased by Alexander (Ho Wah Sai) Ho, and survived by his loving family Veronica (Mau Mak Ying) Ho, Annie Li, Roxana Ho (Layne), Andrew Ho, Brigitte Ho (Schilds), Jeremy Ho and his granddaughters Claralyn and April. The family requests in lieu of flowers to consider a donation to Covenant House Vancouver and the BC Cancer Foundation.
