George Michael Bort, 80 passed on Tuesday 9/16/25 in Avon, Ohio. Born June 13, 1945 in Erie, PA, he was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who served his country with honor in Vietnam. George will be remembered as a loving and patient patriarch to his extensive family and a respected member of his community. Anyone who knew him knew that he was happiest in cabana gear and sunglasses. His warmth would have put the sun to shame on any tropical day.

George is survived by his loving wife Augustine, sister in law Gloria, his children Kimberly, Kris, Jennifer, Erika, and Don, his many grandchildren Ashley, Noah and wife Dayana, Georgie, Ali, Dana, Sara, Mubark, Kendra, Thalia, Christian, Donna, his great-grandchildren Amaya, Abel, Safiya, and his loving dog Lilly. A memorial at the Holy Spirit Catholic Parish- 410 Lear Rd. Avon Lake (back chapel) will be held on October 2,2025 at 11am.
