George's obituary

George Robert Aikins passed away on October 29, 2024 at the age of 83. He grew up in Osgood, Indiana but his journey through life saw him settle in Boston, Chicago and finally in Albuquerque.

His career in the field of electrical engineering allowed him to travel the world, spending time in South America, Europe and Asia. At Teradyne, he cultivated numerous friendships with folks from a variety of backgrounds, including his wife Connie. They played tennis, joked about food stuck in teeth, and then they were married for 45 years.

After retiring, the two empty nesters packed up an RV and traveled the US for 3 years. This helped them realize a love for the desert, which brought them to Albuquerque. Phoenix would have been too hot.

George had a deep interest in many academic pursuits including history, astronomy, and economics. He was well read, could always be counted on to tell you an interesting story and had a love of sarcasm few could rival. In earlier years, he played sports like racquetball and tennis. He continued to play ping pong as long as his health allowed. He enjoyed playing games, cards and watching movies with his family.

George is survived by his wife Constance Aikins and his children, Todd Aikins, Michael Aikins, and Emily Aikins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Aikins and Emily Aikins.

In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a service. Please do not send flowers, thank you.
