I'm still at a loss for words over how to express my condolences over Gaye's passing.  She was the mother of one of my oldest and dearest friends.  I think I met Gaye the day after I met Paulette some 33 years ago.  She welcomed me like she had known me for years.  That's just the type of person she was, always spreading that smile to her eyes and offering a hug whenever I saw her.  I was a frequent overnight guest in those early years.  She saw us at our best and at our worst , shared laughter and tears....and as we got older, many glasses of wine.

Little did I know that I was destined to meet Paulette.  We discovered that our mothers had been sorority sisters at PCC back in the day!  So it became our mission to get our mothers, Gaye & Lori, together to catch up.  It took several years due to logistics (my mom lives in FL), but we finally made it happen.  And so began our annual Mother & Daughter lunch dates.  To listen to the two of them reminisce about old times and mutual friends put smiles on both mine and Paulette's faces.  You'd think they had know each other all these years the way they would sit and just talk and laugh for hours.  My mom always looked forward to her California visits and our lunch dates with Gaye & Paulette.  The occasion will be much missed this summer, but the memories of those sunny afternoons will always be treasured.

Gaye raised two incredibly strong girls.  She was their rock, their best friend & their confidant.  She will be missed more than words can express.  I can only express my love and sympathy to both Paulette and Stephanie (and all of the family).  I am grateful to have known and been loved by your mother for all these years.  I know that she is ALWAYS smiling down on you, sending her love and keeping watch over you and her grandsons.  She was SOOO VERY PROUD of all of you.

Gaye and I first met at Pasadena City College in the 60’s as Sorority Sisters. Coincidentally, our daughters became good friends years later and organized a reunion on one of my Florida to California visits. The four of us enjoyed time together, most memorably oceanside in Malibu and at Paulette’s lovely business establishment. We had so much fun going down memory lane and sharing stories and recalling old friends and adventures. I was so looking forward to seeing this lovely lady again in August. It’s heartbreaking that she is gone too soon.

I’ll miss my Agatha Christie, Nancy Drew (there’s a story there), mystery loving friend.  My most heartfelt condolences go out to Gaye’s family. ❤️

Gaye often mentioned to me that she had 3 priorities that guided her: her love of God, her love of her family and  her devotion to PEO.  She was already ready to support and help whenever needed.  She was a wonderful friend and I miss her every day! In Sympathy,  Ann Quinn, a PEO Sister.
I met Gaye in P.E.O. and it wasn’t long before we became good friends.  I loved Gaye and miss her terribly.  We talked most day and would always laugh.  She would say, you know Bobbi, it’s good that we laugh as laughter is healthy for us.  She also cautioned me several times to be sure and count to 10 before hopping  out of bed so that the oxygen got to the brain and I’d be less likely to fall.  All that to say every night I think of her as I’m counting.
