Gayden's obituary
Gayden Graham White, Jr. passed away May 21, 2022, with family at his side. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
Gayden was born on September 15, 1941, to Gayden Graham White, Sr. and Sarah Duncan White in Talladega, AL, where he grew up and graduated from Talladega High School in 1959.
He graduated from Auburn University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. At Auburn, Gayden was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, as well as a pitcher for the Auburn baseball team, where he met several lifelong friends who he still kept in regular touch with until his final days.
After college, Gayden served in the Army National Guard and was employed in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he met wife Rose. In 1973, Gayden and Rose moved to Dallas, Texas, where they settled and raised their three children; Lauren, Chris, and Graham.
During his career, Gayden was a successful sales representative with Union Carbide Corporation, before moving into the automotive supply and product industry. Never shy or short on words, Gayden made friends and connections everywhere he went, and he kept many of those relationships for life.
Gayden was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he was happiest when sharing his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with family, talking baseball, and proudly rooting for his Auburn Tigers football team, shouting “War Eagle” every time they played, especially against Alabama.
Gayden is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose Schmidt White, his children Lauren Carroll (David), Chris, and Graham; grandchildren David, Duncan, Flynn, Cade, and Braden; sister Sarah Ellen Dixon (Jim), and his nieces and nephews.
Gayden left a lasting impression on those who knew him, and he will be missed by many. He gave it a good fight. War Eagle!
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Country Fellowship Church in Dallas. (8202 Boedeker St, Dallas, TX 75225)
