Gary's obituary

Gary C. Storms, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his home in Doraville, GA with family nearby. He was born December 22, 1939, in Rochester, New York.

Gary is survived by Donna, his loving wife of 46 years, and his children, Gina Fricks (husband Tommy), Denise Hurt (husband Arlen), Tina Tiller (husband Scott), and David Storms (wife Dominique), and stepdaughters, Renee Ladd (husband Oren), Michelle Bignault (husband Stephen), Jennifer Barnabee (husband Craig), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jerry and half-brother Bobby (wife Alice).

Gary grew up in upstate New York and served in the National Guard. He was very entrepreneurial and pursued many business ventures. His passion was styling hair, and he became a talented beautician. He went on to own various beauty salons in New York State, and later, in Atlanta. He closed out his career at United Artists Hair Design in Sandy Springs, GA, which he owned for over 20 years.

Known for his sense of humor and “no-BS” nature, he easily made friends and would always tell it like it is. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with family. For many years, he and his wife loved going out on their houseboat at Lake Lanier, where they spent many good times with friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Bob, and his sister-in-law, Judi.
