There isn’t any words I can say to ease your pain, but i can say that for the short time I knew Gary his love for his family was always ever-present.  I pray for peace for all of you in this time.

From one Navy man to another - Gary: "Fair Winds and Following Seas".   I was thinking of you earlier this month and the few drinks we had in Centreville.  We discussed our careers, high school and the few remaining classmates.    I will fondly recall our times playing baseball in high school but more importantly sharing a common ground for a higher purpose.  To his family;  Gary was my friend in high school and an acquaintance in Northern Virginia where we shared stories of the Valley, work and life.   We will all miss him in our little ways but cannot forget.

Let me begin by saying that I'm glad I got to know Gary before he passed. he not only was a friend to me but he was family and he will forever be in my heart. I spent a lot of time with Gary and his family eating the amazing food he always made. He always picked out the best Christmas gifts for me that made his daughters jealous. He loved seeing everyone happy opening their gifts he always got the most thoughtful gifts for everyone. I'll never forget sitting outside on the porch of his family sharing stories with Gary for hours. You'll never be forgotten I'll forever be grateful for your family! My friend forever Gary Stettler

My condolences to the Stettler family. Gary, you will truly be missed by many. Your witty jokes and great sense of humor is what I will remember you for. I'm heartbroken! So very sorry for your loss. Gary was like a brother to me. I'll miss that smile, and that fast and low talking that made me say.....uh, a million times! Surprising me at my wedding in '02. And calling my dad to check on me. Love you man!

USS CONNECTICUT (SSN 22)
Spent many hours on watch with Stet driving the "Good Ship".   Quick with a story when it was getting late in the watch and always willing to train some "youngster" or give them a check out.  He will be missed.
