Gary helped Janet and me get married right after pilot training back in '65.  He must have done good as we are still hanging tough.  Gary was a great classmate,  a humble and decent man, and a loyal friend.
From playing left field on our pilot training softball team, to landing his B-52 on the pylon near the USAFA North gate, Gary was fun to be around.   His quiet sense of humor, his humility, and his living the Christian life he believed made him one of my most favorite people.
Gary was the kindest man I have known. I loved his sense of humor and admired the Christian life he lived daily.
We had great times with the family in Omaha, Nebraska.

Sharing a meal on one of our memorable trips, here now in Germany in 2004. Gary was a masterful tour guide and always a favorite with the locals. Bill enjoyed being a colleague of his at OEA, Inc. after his AF retirement; and a few years later playing several golf courses and attending Rockies games. Gary was a true patriot, helping Veterans negotiate the red tape to get them their rightful benefits. He will always be remembered as an honorable man and true friend. We miss him!

Howard Ryser Gary was always the older brother that I never had. He was the "city" kid and I was "country". I looked up to him. Kay and I had returned from Germany and were stationed in Colorado Springs in 1963-64. We got to spend some time with Gary and Judy. We attended a couple Air Force football games.

We wish his family peace in this time of deep sorrow. Gary will be missed. God bless him.
On behalf of the Bob Selke family, we are so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Our father, Bob, and mother, Teddi, enjoyed Gary and Judy's friendship. I didn't realize that their connection likely went back to the AF academy days. I pray you have peace during this sad time. Know that my Dad admired Gary and spoke highly of him. May they both rest in peace.
Love,
Kate Selke Harmon
Gary and I were the two oldest guys in the class of 1964. In order to qualify for an entering class you had to be 22 after June 1960 in our case. Gary just slipped in with a July birthday and I was second with an August birthday. We got a lot of ribbing as the old guys and Pappy as an example, but we had a lot of fun with our special standing. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He was a good friend and a great guy. My condolences to the family.

With a heavy heart,
Paul S. Fraser (Van Sickle)

So sorry on the loss of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Gary was a wonderful man. So easy to talk to, humble, kind, and with such a gentle spirit. He will be greatly missed. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ comfort all of you during this difficult time.
Uncle Gary was the best of the best. Every life he touched he left a lasting impact. My family is better for having him in our lives. We will miss you.
Loved Gary as my Doolie roommate and friend ever after. I miss him.

I am so sorry, Ryser family. So many fond childhood memories of dinners at your home. I’ve never met a kinder family or man. Sending you love and peace for Gary. ♥️
Gary was one of the finest people Bill and I have ever known. He humbly lived his faith and was a wonderful example to us all. We will always miss him. Our love to you and the family, Judy.
Judy and family members, we will remember Gary as caring and helpful. Remembering his 80th birthday skydiving with several family members, Gary was fully engaged with family and friends and enjoyed it so much. Was one more thing to check on his “bucket list”. We will miss him! Prayers to all the Reiser family.
Rich and I will always think of Gary with a smile. He was a very special classmate.
Judy, May God's love surround you in this difficult time. We will always cherish the good times we had with you and Gary.
Dear Judy, there are no words! We loved Gary and will miss him very much. We are grateful for his life, his faith, his example and his friendship. Praying for you and family. With love, Doug & Jackie
