Gary's obituary

Gary McKee, aged 73, passed away on May 21st surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He left a legacy of kindness, generosity, and wit that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He loved his family beyond measure and was known for his well-timed puns and quick witted remarks. Whether it was a conversation at the dinner table or talks on the back deck, he always had some new tidbit or words of wisdom to convey upon those listening.

A true Renaissance man, Gary had varied interests and an insatiable curiosity for life. He was an avid fan of television shows such as The Night Manager, Midsomer Murders, and Endeavor. His literary tastes leaned toward immersive works like The Name of the Wind, and he had a penchant for relaxing music, including Enya, harp music, Deva Premal, classical music and Celtic music.

As a soccer enthusiast, Gary cheered for the US Women's National Team and marveled at the artistry of Cirque du Soleil performances. He remained active and engaged through hiking and reading about artificial intelligence. Gary loved exploring new places, with Paris and Hawaii among his most treasured destinations, but he also appreciated the beauty and opportunities found closer to home, such as local hikes in Garden of the Gods.

Kindness goes a long way. This was a mantra Gary lived by, and his legacy will be remembered in the countless lives he touched through his generosity and humor. He epitomized grace, wit, patience, and intelligence, and his love for the color blue was a symbol of his serene and gentle nature.

As we mourn the loss of Gary, we also celebrate the everlasting impact of his life on those he leaves behind. His spirit of kindness, generosity, and love lives on in his cherished family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Alayna McKee and his four daughters: Kylie, Lynzie, Fiona, & Morgan.

The master of puns has left us with laughter, love, and memories that will be cherished for generations.
