Gary entered our life when he came to work for Bunge. We always enjoyed working together.  He would “schedule “ trips to the Emporia Kansas plant to work AND play. As the years passed, it was just a given that Gary would be staying with us during hunting season to hunt deer and Turkey. We loved that, as did he. Gary would relax, laugh, eat well, hunt, take good long naps and always talk about his family.  Gary was the type of friend that people would want to have. We loved him dearly and miss him in the same way.  The photos tell the rest of the story …. He was an amazing individual.

Gary and Julie came into our fellowship at Calvary Baptist in 2021.  Their bond was unmistakable, and they quickly became part of our unique family of “empty nesters”.

Rodney Rivers and I sat with Julie during a procedure at Baptist, and as we waited, Julie began to talk about Garys incredible talents and abilities (many listed in his obituary). We were mesmerized by his seeming inexhaustible capacity to master new challenges, beyond almost anyone else I could ever remember.

Among those was his love for motorcycles, and especially Triumph cycles. At our Christmas gathering, he delighted to show me pictures of his Triumph (I also had a Triumph years ago). We shared stories, and yet another brotherhood was formed.

Some friendships marinate for years. My friendship with Gary was almost immediate, and I will treasure the memories of our times together. What an incredible man!

I first met Gary years ago when visiting Sarah at Gary and Julie's home. He took me out for a ride on his motorcycle-a first for me! I just remember having a great time laughing yet being terrified. Gary was great, comforting me and calming me down.

This past fall, I enjoyed visiting he and Julie with my dogs Belle and Millie. Im pretty sure he was more excited to see the dogs than me😂😂😂. Gary wound up pet sitting  for me while I spent time with Sarah. So sweet!

I am so  saddened for you and Em. Gary was a great guy who loved you both so well. He will be deeply missed this side of Heaven.
