Personal note from Carol

Gary was in my life for over 60 years as my brother-in-law. He was a quiet man, not fond of social gatherings except those relating to family. I remember when he would do the family shopping (needless to say PJ's list was lengthy:) and all the kids would pile in the family van with him. He had a full time and a part time job then. I never heard Gary complain about anything. He had migraine headaches for years and still went to work.

Gary - quiet Gary - was a drummer! He sat in for a set at a local bar when he, PJ, his brother-in-law Juan, and I went out for an evening. He was great! (This was before LDS.) Gary enjoyed making cd's of family events. (When he was a kid, he and his friends made movies!) Building model cars was a lifelong hobby and he gave them to his children as gifts. He loved America's Funniest Videos and possessed a dry, sometimes wicked, sense of humor. He also had lots of Dad jokes and never hesitated to share them! I miss them, and him.

My brother Al (deceased) was wounded in Viet Nam in November of 1968 and flown to Bethesda Naval Hospital for further care. Gary, PJ, Juan, and I left for Maryland immediately after the guys got off work. I'll always remember Gary in the small back seat of our 2-door1967 Camaro. His tall, lanky body was curled up like a pretzel: him on one side; Juan on the other...both trying to sleep

I could go on, but I'll close by saying that I'm thankful that Gary was a part of my life. I can see him smiling now. No more pain, with Paula Jean and Jason by his side.
