Shadow's obituary
Gary "Shadow" Cornwall, a man of strength and laughter, passed away on July 14, 2025. Born on October 24, 1946, Shadow was a colorful character, known for his love of life and energetic personality. He was a beacon of independence and resilience, embodying a strong sense of loyalty and brotherhood. Shadow's humor and spirit will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Shadow is survived by a loving family, including his daughters, Katrina and Desiree' Cornwall, his son, Gary Cornwall II, and his partner, Dana Ward. Shadow will also be dearly remembered by his son-in-laws, Ken Stewart and Rob Wilson, as well as his grandson, Tristen Roos. The pillar that he was in their lives is irreplaceable and his memory will live on through them.
A lifelong motorcyclist, Shadow loved nothing more than the sensation of riding with the rubber side down and knees in the breeze. His favorite local haunt, the Dallas Inn, was often the base for his adventures. A fan of classic cinema, Shadow had a great affection for John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. His favorite book was by Louis L'Amour and his preferred soundtrack was "Born to be Wild."
One of Shadow's greatest accomplishments, and what he took the most pride in, was his children. His legacy will be marked by the laughter, tears, and love of motorcycles he shared with them. His greatest lessons of loyalty and brotherhood will live on through the lives of his loved ones and those who were impacted by his vibrant presence.
A funeral service will be held for Shadow on August 23, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Roberts of Ocala Funerals & Cremations. Following this, a celebration of Shadow's life will take place at 6:00 PM at Dallas Inn Bar. As we raise a glass of Shadow's favorite beer to him, let's remember him as he was - funny, energetic, and always ready for the next adventure.
As we say our farewells, we remember Shadow not just as a loving family man, but as a true character of life who leaves us with an abundance of memories filled with laughter and love. Shadow be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
