Gary's obituary

Gary Bryan Charters Sr., 85, of Oak Ridge, TN passed away on October 5, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherished by many.

Gary was married to his devoted wife, Dotty, for 65 wonderful years. Together, they traveled to 48 states, creating countless memories along the way. A committed Christian, Gary's faith was evident in his deep love for his family and friends.

In addition to his family life, Gary was an avid motorcycle rider and racer, leaving a lasting mark in the racing community through his numerous accomplishments. His passion for adventure and his generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Dotty. His children, Bryan, Vera, Robert (Loretta), and Laura (Anthony), grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan (Meagan), Austin, and Kayla (Charleston), and 3 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters. Sisters, Diana Meade (John), Kathy Kimble

He is preceded in death by his father, William Laurel Charters, his mother Evelyn Young, brothers, Bill Charters, Donald Denman, James Denman, and grandson Jeffrey Charters.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for the care they provided in his time of need. Elizabeth and Chad were great!
