Obituary for Gary Lee Bristlin

Gary Lee Bristlin, age 72, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away
on February 13th, 2026 at Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs,
Colorado.

Gary Lee Bristlin was born on October 9, 1953 in Detroit
Lakes, Minnesota to Robert and Alice (Oswaldson) Bristlin.  He attended Frazee-Vergas High School, where
he began forming the friendships and outgoing personality that would stay with
him his entire life.  He never met a
stranger-only friends he hadn’t talked to yet.

He married Cindy Hanson in 1972, and together they welcomed
two children, Heather and Ryan. Later, he shared his life with Gloria Hunsaker.
He also shared a marriage with Kathy Gordon, and together they welcomed his
youngest daughter, Kaitlyn.

Gary spent his life working in construction, a career that
fit his hardworking spirit and love of staying busy. He took pride in building
things that lasted-from homes to large commercial projects-most recently
serving as a General Manager overseeing hotel construction. He traveled
frequently for work and occasionally for adventure, and wherever he went he
left behind stories, laughter and friends.

He was known for his friendly nature, quick conversations,
and the ability to strike up a connection with anyone. Whether at a job site,
the local watering hole, or family gatherings, he enjoyed talking, joking and
keeping people company.  His greatest
joy, however, was his family-especially watching it grow across generations.

He is survived by his children:  Heather (Irvin) Bachmann, Ryan (Kari)
Bristlin, and Kaitlyn (Daniel) Voorhees; 10 grandchildren, 8
great-grandchildren; his brothers Bob (Rita) Bristlin, Dick Bristlin; his
sister Bonnie (Denny) Curfman; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alice
Bristlin and his brother Don Bristlin.

A memorial service will be held at the Vergas Event Center
on April 18th, 1:00 p.m.

Gary will be remembered for his stories, his laughter, and
the way he made people feel like they’d known him forever.

In lieu of flowers the family is raising money for a
scholarship in remembrance of Gary Bristlin for a student entering the
construction trade at Frazee High School, his alma mater.
