Gary Michael Bernard went home to Heaven on March 19, 2020 at age 67 in Baton Rouge, La. Gary was born and raised in New Orleans, La. He attended Jesuit High School and received a scholarship to Tulane University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He was the captain of his Tulane baseball team. He loved baseball. Professionally Gary was a Regional Sales Manager with Dr. Pepper Company for several years. Gary’s hobbies included baseball, jogging, hiking in the The Great Smokey Mountains and The Rocky Mountains. He enjoyed his family, music and trips to Disney World and New York and Gatlinburg, TN with his daughter, Amanda, the joy in his life.
Gary is survived by his daughter Amanda Roberts, granddaughter Brighton Grace Roberts, son-in-law Patrick Roberts, ex-wife/best friend, Julie Bernard all of Baton Rouge, La. ; Three brothers Keith (Leslie) Bernard, Joey (Nancy) Bernard and Steve (Yolande) Bernard all of New Orleans, La. and many in-laws, nieces and nephews of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, La. Gary was predeceased by his father, Joseph Bernard and his mother, Gertrude Bernard.
A memorial service will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, La at a later date.
