Gary's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Gary Alcorn, born May 5, 1972, who left us on April 26, 2024. A man known for his extraordinary funny nature, wit, generosity, and kindness. Gary's light has dimmed in our world, but his legacy of compassion and laughter will continue to glow in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known him.
Gary was a man of simple pleasures and cherished moments. He found joy in the natural beauty of places like Bull Shoals Lake in the Ozark Mountains, where he made beautiful memories. He held a fond appreciation for comedy, his laughter being as infectious as his warmth.
His devotion to the respect for all was unwavering and deeply embedded in his character. The primary lesson he left behind was the importance of kindness, a trait that was reflective of his own personality.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will forever be etched in the memories of the many lives he touched. His 7 brothers, 5 sisters, 13 nephews, 12 nieces, and 12 grandnephews and grandnieces along with his aunts and uncles will greatly miss him. They will continue to keep him alive in their hearts and stories.
Gary is survived by his mother, Rose Marie Alcorn; his sisters, Rose Alcorn-Bennington, Ruth Longwell, Angie Alcorn, Lisa Adams and Golda Lawrence; and his brothers, Montague Alcorn, Jr., Jacob Alcorn, Paul Alcorn, Michael Alcorn, and Luke John Smith. He was predeceased by his father, Montague Alcorn, Sr., and his brother, Jerome Alcorn.
Gary’s life was filled with humor, kindness, and a generous spirit. His unforgettable personality and tireless commitment to respect for all will remain as his enduring legacy. May his soul rest in peace as his memory continues to inspire kindness in us all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8th, 2024 at 3pm. Location is Goldenrod Park Community Facility on 1340 S Pattie St, Wichita, KS 67211
