Gary A Cohen, MD, 71 of Escondido, Ca passed away on March 16, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1954, in Boston Massachusetts, to Roberta and Murray Cohen. Gary had a deep love for sports, concerts, movies and reading, and was devoted to his three dogs, Winnie, June, and Dory. He recently retired on July 30, 2025 after more than 40 years as an allergist, dedicating his career to helping patients with allergies and asthma live healthy, fulfilling lives. His patients and staff meant the world to him, though his family always held the most cherished place in his heart. Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Laurie Cohen; his children Danielle Cohen and her husband Jeff Turnof; Scott Cohen and his wife Alex; Stefanie Gurski and her husband John Gurski; Zachary Tomlinson and his partner Emily Lane; Olivia Hemmer-Cohen  and her fiancé’ Roman Aviles. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Autumn, Joseph, Donavan, Matthew, Jet, River, Lillian and Ace. His brothers Michael Cohen and David Cohen, sister Debra Reinhard, and several nieces and nephews.
