I became a member of this family when Garrett was 9, but even from the very beginning, he was kindhearted, funny and very polite. My favorite memories of Garrett (and his sisters) growing up, were when they would come over to visit their Grandpa Phil.

Garrett (plus his sisters) would begin playing a marathon of ping pong games, one after the other. All the laughter shared and the bantering back and forth, along with ping pong balls bouncing wildly off the table and off the walls, (just for the sheer joy of it!) is something I will forever miss.

There was one time in particular that Garrett hit me right between the eyes with a ping pong ball and all play had to come to a stop because everybody was on the floor with laughter.

I remember the many card and board games we all played together and the comfortable chatter around the table amongst the siblings, which would often include Garrett teasing and joking around with his sisters. He always had a smile and positive attitude and I never once saw him be mean to his sisters. It became very obvious the close bond they all shared, which was a delight to see.

One of the many qualities Garrett possessed was his gentle and thoughtful nature. When Garrett was a young teen, the whole family had come for another yearly visit, and as they were preparing to leave, Garrett offered his arm to his mother and helped her to the car. She didn’t have to ask, he just naturally gave it. Garrett was a sweetheart from the moment I met him. He will be forever loved and forever missed.

Our sincerest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Fechter family. We are so very sorry that you are going through this traumatic event and wish you nothing but healing and peace.  Thomas & Jerika Shea

My heartfelt condolences to Garrett's family!!

I worked with Garrett on couple of projects at TPCi. It was always so great working with him, he was so young but never felt that ways due to the knowledge he had and the way her worked so professionally.

Garrett was so funny and always had a positive energy. We will miss you so much. Rest is peace.

I had the privilege of working with Garrett over the past two years at TPCi.  Garrett was always a ray of sunshine and optimism on our team.  It was amazing to watch his growth and how quickly he became an integral part of our team.   It was difficult to understand how we functioned before he joined us as he was the glue that brought everything together.  He is amazing and we know that someone of his caliber can never be replaced.   His is part of our Pokemon family and we will always strive to do our best as he did.  We will always remember him and will feel his absence in our hearts.

Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues.  Garrett was incredible and was the epitome of the lyrics "I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was."
