Galvin's obituary
Galvin Asuncion Anciano, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 18th, 2025.
He was born in Naga City, Philippines on January 19, 1945, to Panfilo Anciano and Concordia Asuncion Anciano. He was married to the love of his life, Lolita Bracia Anciano, for 55 years, but they had begun dating at age 15 so they were together over 64 years! Galvin had a career in Petrochemical Engineering for over 30 years with firms including Kellogg, Brown and Root, Flour Daniel, and Jacobs Engineering. He later built a successful financial education and services business with World Financial Group and World System Builders with his wife Lolita for over 25 years.
He was a founding member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land and had a passion for his faith, his family, and teaching others financial education.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lolita Bracia Anciano, his parents Panfilo Anciano and Concordia Asuncion Anciano, his siblings Wilves A. Guillarte, Salde Anciano, Eddie Oden Lee Anciano, Panfilo Anciano Jr, and Francia Anciano, and by his daughter-in- law Joyelyn Anciano.
He is survived by his sons Antonio Anciano and Geoffrey Anciano, his daughters Gaile Anciano Galindo, and Gigi Anciano-Moe, grandchildren: Nicholas Galindo, Ava Galindo, Carl Ogletree, Jamison Anciano, James Daniel Moe, Joseph Anciano, and Matthew Anciano and Matthew’s son, Galvin’s only great-grandson, Vincent Anciano, his siblings: Nieda Asence, Agnes Anciano, Helen Hernandez, Ray Angelito Anciano, Elizabeth Repuyan, and Paul Anciano as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Senior Living Pearland and of UTMB Health Clear Lake for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479 on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10 am.
Visitation/viewing with the family will begins 4 pm and end at 8 pm (Funeral Vigil Rite at 5 pm followed by Eulogy) on Friday, February 28th at Forest Park Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077. Refreshments served.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 1st at 2 pm and Interment to follow at 3 pm at Forest Park Funeral Home 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
