Gale spent her very early years in East Bridgewater, MA before moving to Westwood, MA where she attended school. A 1963 graduate of Westwood High School, Gale also attended Washburn University; Topeka, KS; and Massasoit Community College before receiving a degree in social work at Springfield College; Springfield, MA in 1995.
During the ’80’s and early 90’s Gale worked for Inter-Lakes Regional High School where the students dedicated two year books to her and stated: “…(she) sincerely cared for us as our advisor, coach, mother, teacher and friend.” Moving to Florida in 1997 she spent the next 27 years working in the social services field, primarily first in behavioral care with at risk or disabled children, and then for the Florida foster care system, where she retired as a care manager supervisor from Kids Central in 2023. Through her many years mentoring young people in this highly stressful, challenging career, she became affectionately known as “mama Gale” to her co-workers.
Gale was an avid Pats, Red Sox, Bucs, and Rays fan. Gale touched numerous lives and many cousins and friends will miss her, especially her husband Robert. A memorial service is planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
