Gail "Bud" Whiting (1932-2023) Gail "Bud" Whiting, a revered and dedicated member of the community, passed away on March 22nd, 2023, at the age of 91. Born on January 20th, 1932, in Piney View, West Virginia born to Gail Henry Whiting and Nannie Edith Whiting, Gail was affectionately known as Bud by family and friends. He was Predeceased by Gladys Whiting(wife), Brothers David Whiting, Kenny Whiting, Robert(Bob)Whiting, Sisters Mary Martin, Winna Evans, Edith Pierce, Hazel Fadness, Anna Leppanen, Betty Atkins, Helen Turner. Bud's life reflected his passion for hard work, diligence, and care for others. He was a skilled construction worker throughout his career building highway bridges, often taking on odd jobs to assist those in need within his community. Gail's altruistic nature and genuine desire to help others made a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In his leisure time, Gail could be found enjoying the thrill and excitement at the Jackson Harness Raceway. It was there that he formed many friendships and created unforgettable memories. Gail's passion for harness racing was a testament to his adventurous spirit and his love for shared experiences. More than anything, Gail was a devoted family man. His strong sense of duty and care for his loved ones was apparent to all who knew him. He was an ever present member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #612 for 32 years as a guard and community member. He is survived by his brother Ernie Whiting, daughter Karen Grant who he loved dearly, James Grant his first and only grandson, his loving granddaughter Jessica Grant, who carries on his legacy of kindness and hard work along with his great grandson Leo M. Goshop who was his pride and joy. He was never good at saying, "I Love you", but it was ever present in his day to day life with family. As we remember and celebrate the life of Gail "Bud" Whiting, let us be inspired by his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. May his memory serve as a reminder to us all of the importance of hard work, the value of helping others, and the enduring bond of family. Gail's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
