Gail's obituary

Gail Harman, 87, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on November 19th at her home in Westport, CT.

A proud native New Englander, Gail was born in Stamford, CT, to Blanche and Ernest Bello on August 30, 1933.

Gail lived a full and happy life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and an active volunteer. She married James Lee Harman on February 1954. They raised their four children in Stamford and Westport, CT. She is survived by her husband James, and three of her four children: James R. Harman of Westport, CT; Elizabeth Harman of New York, NY; and Timothy Harman of Westport, CT, son-in-law Rich Langlois of Easton, CT and daughter-in-law Karen Harman of Westport, CT, her sister Veronica Thomas and her two brothers, George Bello and Robert Bello, all of Stamford, CT. She is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother Blanche Bello and her daughter Mary Lee Langlois.

Upon graduation from high school, Gail worked as an office assistant in Stamford and as a paraprofessional at Staples High School. As a volunteer, Gail was dedicated to the needs and wants of the handicapped, spearheading many projects and lovingly supporting the work of Our Vision of Fairfield County and Special Olympics of CT.

Gail will be buried in a private ceremony at the Assumption Cemetery in Westport, CT. A celebration of her life will be held in 2021.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Hospice of Fairfield County for their dedication to her health and wellbeing.
