Gail's obituary
Gail Gelak, a warm, home-loving, and friendly soul, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2024. Born on July 6, 1948, her life was one filled with love, family, and treasured moments. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her loving grandchildren and sons who were her greatest joy.
Gail is survived by her loving spouse, Anthony Gelak, her caring sons, Jason Kolecki and Steve Gelak, and her brothers, Rich and Jack Waltrick. She is also survived by her sister, Karen Adams. Her bright spirit lives on in her adored grandchildren, Nicole Kolecki, Corryn Boehm, Jessica Wald, Joshua Kolecki, Emily Masse, Ryan Masse, Matthew Masse, Spencer Gelak, and Justin Kolecki. She was predeceased by her son, Ron Kolecki.
A passionate homemaker with a penchant for crafting, Gail found immense joy in scrapbooking, needlepoint, and sewing. The hours spent with her grandchildren around the crafting table are memories that they will forever hold dear. In addition to her love for crafting, Gail was also an avid fan of Hallmark romance books, and could often be found with one in hand.
Gail's palate was as refined as her love for art; she had a deep fondness for Chicken Cordon Bleu and could never resist a glass of ICE raspberry. Her favorite local spots included the calming and serene lighthouses, and she always looked forward to her vacation in New Jersey where she loved exploring new places and creating beautiful memories with her family.
Gail was a beacon of love, selflessness, and resilience. A lesson she often shared with her family was to "be there for others even when they won't be there for you." This lesson, along with the sweet and cherished memories she created, will continue to be a source of comfort and strength to her family. Gail's legacy, her grandchildren, will keep the flame of her love and warmth burning bright, forever.
Words cannot express the void left by her passing. Gail was much more than just a family member to those who knew her; she was a friend, a confidante, a source of comfort and a ray of sunshine, who will be deeply missed. It is the wish of the family that all those who knew Gail celebrate her life and remember her not for her departure but for the wonderful life she lived.
