Gabriel's obituary
Gabriel John Schiavello, 91, was called home to our lord on April 6, 2022.
Gabe was born June 27,1930 in Yonkers, NY to Daniel Schiavello and Jenny Schiavello who preceded his death.
He grew up with 3 Brothers and one sister. Joseph, Anthony, Carmine and Eleanor.
He served in the army during the Korean War, 1951-1953. After that, he wore many hats. He worked for General Motors, worked as a truck driver, a carpenter, an interior decorator for many years, and then finally a construction worker with the International Union of Operating Engineers where he became a successful heavy machine operator for 20+ years.
He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a wonderful relative and friend to so many people. Gabe will be missed by his surviving children, Angela Killeen (Kevin) of Orange, and Diana Todd (Michael Fischetti) of Seymour, and six grandchildren, Kira Larson (Preston), Steven Schiavello (Brittany), Kasey Strzalkowski (Alex), Kristen Killeen, Lauren Todd (Martina Powell), and Danielle Fritz (Dale), along with three great grandchildren, Kaylen Larson, Caleb Fritz and Charli Fritz. He is also survived by his brother Carmine Schiavello, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by and reunited in heaven with his son Daniel Schiavello and siblings Joseph Schiavello, Anthony Schiavello, and Eleanor Virginia.
Gabe donated his body to the New York Medical College to help aid in medical studies.
