Freshteh believed deeply in the power of education to change lives. She understood, perhaps better than anyone, that a child given the chance to learn is a child given a future.
In her memory, our family is asking friends and loved ones to consider a donation to Keep Children in School Foundation (KCIS) in lieu of flowers. KCIS provides financial support for the educational needs of underprivileged children, helping them stay in school from elementary through college — carrying forward exactly the kind of hope she spent her life giving to others.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps a child continue their education. We can't think of a more fitting tribute to the woman who taught us the value of learning, kindness, and lifting others up.
