Barbara's obituary
Mrs. Barbara Ann Miller-Carr, aged 63, passed away on October 3, 2024, after battling complications with diabetes. Barbara was born on January 13, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, to Alfred and Marilyn Miller. Barbara Ann, affectionately known as Minnie, was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, and teacher. Her absence will be profoundly felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Minnie attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, and later earned a degree in Applied Science Technology from ITT Technical Institute. This commitment led her to pursue further education in early childhood education.
Minnie had a special love for engaging conversations and enjoyed sharing stories, playing chess, and watching Sci-Fi movies. She was a source of guidance, support, and encouragement for many. In her leisure time, she found joy in music, playing drums and guitars, and exploring all things electronic. Her eagerness to learn and share her knowledge made her a beloved figure in her community.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred T. and Marilyn J. Miller, as well as her brothers, James Miller and Vernon T. Bluitt Jr., and her sister, Stephanie Bonner. She is survived by her husband Antwione Miller, children, Lamonte (Leatha) Miller, Tawonna (Rodell) Hollins, Frederick Miller, and Thomas Miller, along with eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her brother David Miller, her sister Candyce Hill, and a host of nephews and nieces.
