Fred's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick "Fred" Wilcox on June 24, 2023. Born on July 8, 1946, Fred lived a fulfilling, cheerful life surrounded by family and friends who will now cherish his memory.
Fred is survived by his loving wife Margo Wilcox. Sister Gloria Wilcox Brown. Daughters Cheryl Wilcox, DeAnna Doyle, Debora Beck. Granddaughters, Alexus, Albrie, Madison, Morgan, and great granddaughters Giulia, Annalyn, and Evelyn, who will continue to preserve his legacy. Throughout his life, Fred had a passion for good food and drink, particularly enjoying a delicious steak and a glass of Scotch. He found comfort and entertainment in the work of Tom Clancy, and the music of Willie Nelson provided the soundtrack to many of his favorite moments.
A true fan of the Denver Broncos, Fred never missed a game and loved to discuss his team's performance with friends and fellow enthusiasts. Mahjong was his favorite pastime, and he spent countless hours refining his skills and enjoying the game's social aspect. Always active, Fred took great pleasure in working in his shop and taking long, invigorating walks to clear his mind and maintain his health.
Fred's love for adventure took him to many beautiful vacation spots, with Maine holding a special place in his heart. A man of principles, he deeply cared about supporting veterans and ensuring they received the recognition and assistance they deserved. His cheerful personality shone through in his taste for the color red, a hue that perfectly represented his vibrant spirit.
One of Fred's greatest accomplishments was his time spent as a 1st lieutenant in the Army as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and Korea. He served his country with pride and courage as leaving an indelible mark on those who served alongside him. His most important legacy, however, is his family, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons he imparted on them.
Fred Wilcox will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. His cheerful spirit, dedication to his family, and passionate interests will live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones.
