Frederick's obituary
Frederick McCollum, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on January 26, 2025. Born on July 28, 1941, he leaves behind a rich and cherished life filled with love, laughter, and respect. Frederick was a man of charm and wit, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered, and a legacy that will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
He is warmly remembered by his daughters Denise McCollum and Deborah Smith, and Tina McCollum. In addition, Frederick's memory lives on through his adoring grandsons Chris Doyen and Mark Bennett, as well as his granddaughters Julia and Danielle Doyen. His sisters, Judith McCollum Pennsy and Norma McCollum Kuhl, also survive him. Frederick is reunited in death with his parents, Marie Louise and Norman McCollum, and his sister, Jean McCollum.
Frederick's life was marked by simple joys and vibrant passions. He relished the robust taste of a good Manhattan and savored the rich layers of a well-made lasagna. His love for music was encapsulated in the powerful country tunes of Toby Keith.
He was a devoted fan of Nascar Races and Old Western movies, often finding comfort and excitement in the thrill of the race and the action of the old frontier. His laughter echoed loudest during games of Mexican Train, a cherished pastime.
In his free time, Frederick indulged in the tranquility of fishing, the adventure of traveling, and the serene beauty of South Padre Island, his favorite vacation spot. All these experiences were framed in his favorite color - the passionate red.
Frederick's essence was a compelling blend of humor and charm, a man who brought joy to every room he was in, and whose influence will continue to ripple through the lives of those who knew him. His legacy is one of love and respect, a testament to the beautiful life he led and the people whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
