Frederick's obituary

Frederick "Fred" Galligan Jr, 81, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on September 25, 2022 after a 2 Yr battle with Cancer in which he was cared for by his Loving Wife Charlotte.



Fred was born on September 7, 1941 to the late Frederick T Galligan Sr & the late Leona G (Macomber)Galligan in Acushnet, MA. Fred entered the USMC at age 17. Upon leaving the Marine Corp he became a Commercial Truck Driver which led to him owning his own trucking company for many years. Later in life he became a Security Guard until his retirement at age 78. He is survived by his wife of 29 yrs Charlotte (Savoie) Galligan and his Children, Step-Children & their Spouses: Leona & Tony Andre, Christine Trudelle, Debra Garabedian, Tracie & David Martin, Ashley & Alex Ward, Donna & Norm Jacques , Betty & Kenny Walker, Michael & Paula Correira, and Lisa & Wayne Charpentier. Along with his children Fred is Survived by his 25 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren, his Sister Patricia Pelczar, his Step-Brother Roger Boucher, his Step-Sisters Jackie Boucher & Janet Boucher, and his former wife-Eleanor (Smith) Galligan along with several nieces and nephews.  He was Pre-Deceased by his Mother- Leona, his Father-Fred Sr, his Step-mother Claire Galligan and his Step-Brother-Raymond Boucher.

  Anyone that knew Fred, knew that he was a force of nature that lived his life-his way with unwavering determination. He was passionate about History, Antique Vehicle Restoration & Hunting. He was a faithful member of the American Legion - Florida and he was a former Member & past President of the Sippican Rod & Gun Club - Rochester, MA for many years until his move to Florida .

 There will be a Service for Internment of his ashes at a later date at Acushnet Cemetery in Massachusetts.
