Frederic's obituary
Frederic Lionel Clerici, a native and longtime resident of Crockett, passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 75.
Born on November 18, 1948, to Charlotte Mae Harmison and Louis John Clerici, Fred was a dedicated husband, father, brother, friend and community leader.
A proud alumnus of John Swett High School and the University of California, Berkeley, Fred was a lifelong fan of Cal football. He served his country with honor as a member of the US Army Reserve in the 1960s and 70s. Fred spent much of his professional life at C&H Sugar, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. Prior to beginning his tenure there he and his beloved wife, Norma, founded and ran the Cosmic Carburetor, an auto shop and gas station where he honed his considerable talent as a mechanic, skills that would continue to serve him as he maintained the family’s classic cars.
Deeply involved in local politics and community service, Fred was a steadfast advocate for his town and its people. He served multiple terms on the John Swett Unified School Board, the Crockett Community Foundation and the Crockett Community Services District among other local organizations, leaving a lasting impact on the community he called home for most of his life.
Frederic is survived by Norma and their son, Joseph, as well as his siblings John, David, and Paula.
A celebration of his life of hard work, service, and devotion to his family will be held on January 26 at the Crockett Community Center. Please RSVP if you would like to attend.
The family welcomes charitable gifts in his memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, or to the Crockett Improvement Association.
For donations to the Crockett Improvement Association, please make checks payable to the Crockett Community Foundation (which will match your donations) and mail to PO Box 155, Crockett, CA 94525. Please write "Fred Clerici - CIA" in the memo.
