Freddy's obituary

Freddy Marcelo Sarabia, 59 of Kingman, Arizona passed away on January 13th due to Covid. Freddy was born in Quito, Ecuador and came to New York City in December of 1962 at the young age of 1. Freddy grew up in Jersey City Heights, NJ attending St Anne’s Parochial School and graduated from Hudson Catholic in 1980. At the age of 18, Freddy was proud to become an American citizen. He later got the itch to move west and landed in California for a number of years and proudly served with the Los Angeles Police Department before eventually moving back to NJ.

Freddy began his long career in the Real Estate industry working for the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service. After his tenure in NJ, he was offered an opportunity that took him to Florida to work in Palm Beach. He continued to advance his career, as he traveled around the country, establishing life-long relationships with technology vendors, user groups and others in the Real Estate community, and attending various events and trade shows for the betterment of the industry. He truly loved those he worked along side of, promoting new technology and best practices that are still used to this day. It's also in Florida where he became a member of the Elks Lodge. While a member, he was able to again serve the community through his love of cooking and donating his time and talents.

After Palm Beach, he was offered an opportunity to become the RLS Director at the Real Estate Board of New York in midtown Manhattan. He accepted the position and traveled back to NJ. While working at REBNY, he was pivotal in establishing the first Multiple Listing Service in Manhattan, something that was never in existence before. His accomplishments at REBNY were a testament to his professionalism and dedication to the industry and those he worked with.

It's here in NJ where he met the love of his life, Suzanne, in 2015. The love they shared for each other, as well as animals, was truly special. They wed on May 27, 2018 and began their lives together with their dog, Melly. Shortly afterwards, looking for a softer pace in life, Freddy took a position as CEO of Wardex in Bullhead City, Arizona. They lived for a short time in Laughlin, Nevada where they added another member to their family, a new pup named Charlie, before settling in Kingman, Arizona. He remained extremely active in the real estate industry.

Recently, he once again took a change in his career path and accepted a position back in Florida with the Royal Palm Coast REALTOR Association as CEO. Just prior to that move, he became ill and never made it to Florida.

Throughout his life, Freddy had a passion for travel, cooking, and photography, which he pursued with such love. One of his most exciting moments was to be part of the Event Press for the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014. His happiest moments were spent cooking meals for others and experimenting with different recipes for those closest to him. Freddy's values were always foremost in his actions. His love for his family, his friends, his work and his colleagues was unmistakable.

Freddy is survived by his loving wife Suzanne D’Andrea, his Mother and Father, Jorge and Juanita Sarabia, his sister Shana Conway, his nephews and niece, Donald Conway, Chelsea Conway and Jack Conway, and his stepchildren Michael and Jillian, along with his granddaughter Alana.

Services will be held at St Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington NJ on March 13th at 11:30am. If you choose to attend in person, please be aware that there are capacity restrictions, and social distancing rules will be enforced. The service will also be streamed live on Youtube if you cannot or choose not to attend.
