Fred's obituary
Fred was considered a jack-of-all trades and outdoorsman. He practiced varied professions during his lifetime. He spent many years digging clams along the Medomak River as well as painting houses. He found great fulfillment during the time that he spent building boats. He enjoyed being behind the lens of a video recorder, watching each boat being launched into the Atlantic off Rockland Harbor. During his later years, he fabricated art from discarded metal and wood, creating unique musical instruments.
Fred’s children and grandchildren were his biggest source of pride. He was generous with his love and instilled a strong ethical code into both Adam and Erica. Fred had many loyal friends throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with close friends: Wes, Danny, and Chuck, especially during his later years. Fred was the kind of person that would give the shirt off his own back and help a stranger in need. He loved reading and telling stories of his time spent outdoors. He liked good music, listening to rock n’ roll, and singers such as Johnny Cash and Elvis. Fred was one-of-a-kind and will be missed greatly by those who loved him.
He is survived by his son Adam and grandson Jack, of Waldoboro; daughter Erica and her husband Roy, and granddaughter, Megan, of Waldoboro; sisters Linda, Eleanor and Priscilla; brothers Paul, David, Larry and Jeff, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
