Background
Fred Ortiz and his twin sister, Francis Ortiz, were placed shortly after birth, into the loving hands of Guadalupe Gonzalez (foster mother) in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He affectionately called her “Pita”. Always with tears in his eyes, he would lovingly refer to her as an angel on earth and as his one and only true mom. Through the years he recalled and told the many stories of all the ways she loved, cared and prayed for them as children. He missed her everyday of his life and longed for the day when he would see her again. My father spoke of his experience as a foster child with great admiration and love toward Pita and confidence in the Sovereignty of arriving into her care. He reverenced almighty God, the Catholic Church, and Pita and her family, for their open hearts of love. He knew the gift of this foster mom- he was beyond blessed in-spite of the circumstances and was thankful! I really believe that my dad would love, in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to this foster care organization. They provide the fun every-day extras that these kids need! Thank you in advance for your consideration.
