I’m just seeing this now .. Fred was my mentor and my dear trusted friend , and my big brother.  He believed in me from day one.  And encouraged me. He told me I should be on his sales team at age 20. The others were 35-65.

After my fist full month working for him I had earned exactly zero.  He told me to come to his house after work , and he would “give me some pointers “ to have some success and be number one , out of 27 on the team.  I was currently in last place.  30 days later I was at the top of the team at Number one!!  I teach that summer lesson from Fred to employees and business partners.  I was the player , and he was the coach.******  Fred and I couldn’t imagine NOT being with jimmy buffet for the 1999/2000 NYE Show. So of course we got tickets and went to Hollywood.   I recently saw a clip of that concert on instagram , and realized I was there with the Colonel !!! Btw he called me Elvis.   Fred was the best.  Thank you big Brother. ❤️  I love you and I miss you and I thank you.   - Jan 27, 2026 scottdale AZ.  Jeff Christenson - 602/524/6180

I met Fred at a cocktail party being hosted in the home of a mutual friend , Danny Crim . During the conversation that night Fred told me that he and Donna had just bought a lot south of Ocean City and wanted to start landscaping the property while they were raising the money to build a house . But Fred had a problem . He had never planted a tree .  Just so happened that my wife , Teresa & I had been planting trees for 3 years on our property and better yet I had bought 15 White Pine trees the day before to lnstall a privacy barrier on the west side of our property.  We hatched a plan . I would supply a pitcher of Bloody Mary’s the next morning if Fred would help me plant the trees . As I recall the project required 2 pitchers of Bloody’s but a wonderful lifelong friendship was born . PS These pine trees were 3 feet tall when we planted them

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. Donna and family, I had a call yesterday from Cutty who said that he had heard from Kevin Conlan that Fred had died but he was unsure if it was true. So, I immediately looked on the internet and found this site. I'm so very glad you were with him. I pray that you are well. I hold my memories of my times with you all dear in my heart. Love to you all...always. ~ Nan

My condolences to Fred’s family.  I first met Fred in junior high and we attended high school together.  He immediately became a very good friend and was  always lots of fun to be with.  A true free spirit and ladies man!  I remember when he worked at a men’s clothing store in DesMoines.  He could sell snow to Eskimo's!  He was in my wedding party.  I last saw Fred at our 50th class reunion.  It was great to see him.  RIP, my friend!

Fred and I were great friends at Roosevelt high school. I’m sorry to see his loss. It was quite a shock to me. Best wishes to his family and please accept my condolences. Jerry Campbell.
Fred has been a constant in my life for more than 45 years. I've never had a better friend. I've never had more fun. My heart reaches out to Donna, Kristin and Jack, and to Fred's many dear friends.

Fred was one of the truly greats and will be missed by all. I am sorry that I didn’t keep better in touch after I left Colorado because I truly cherished our times together form Mexico in 71-72 to many fun times in Denver and Okoboji.  My condolences to Donna, Jack, Kristian and the rest of the family. God Speed and fly night my friend.
So very sorry for your loss. You all are a dear part of our memories of the lake and growing up. We loved Fred!

My mentor and friend.    We were separated by the miles and life’s path but always together in our hearts and mind.    Now more than ever.
